Turtle Trading System

For those of you that don't know the Turtle experiment was a result of an argument between two of the greatest traders ever. William Eckhard and Richard Dennis. Richard Dennis famously began trading with a shoestring of $500 and ended up with a net worth of around $200 million just 10 years later! William was incredibly successful also.

William and Richard argued over whether trading could be taught or was it an innate skill. Richard argued that it was a skill that could be taught. He decided to prove this by hiring a selection of inexperienced people to be taught a simple trend following system. By and large these traders went on to become very successful some making tens of millions and some are managing hedge funds now, some 30 years after the original experiment. Although there were a few failures (despite the fact they all had the same system... lesson: follow the plan!)

There are books written on this topic that go into the experiment in more detail, but here is the system they traded.
